Customer texting

Let customers text you — and let your whole team answer.

People read texts within minutes and ignore voicemails for days. Give customers a number they can text, and every message lands in one shared team inbox where anyone can jump in and give real, personal support — no phone tag, no personal cell numbers.

The opportunity

The gap between how people communicate and how businesses do.

Think about how you talk to friends and family. You text. Then you call a business and get sent to voicemail, wait on hold, or play phone tag for two days. That mismatch is the opportunity.

Texting is the one channel almost everyone checks — quickly, and without being annoyed by it. A text doesn't interrupt a customer the way a phone call does, and it doesn't disappear into a spam folder the way email does. It just sits on their phone until they glance at it, which usually happens within minutes.

Here's the strange part: even though customers overwhelmingly prefer it, the vast majority of small and local businesses still have no way to receive a text. The customer texts the number on the truck or the website and… nothing. That's not a technology problem anymore — it's just that no one turned it on. When you're the business that does text back, you stand out immediately.

And to be clear about what this is: it's real customer support and everyday back-and-forth — questions, scheduling, quick help — handled by your team from one shared inbox. It's not about blasting people with marketing. (You can send the occasional promotion if you want to, but that's the small part, not the point.)

Why texting wins

The numbers are hard to argue with.

Industry studies land on the same story again and again — texts get read, and they get read fast.

0%
of texts get opened — versus roughly 20% of marketing emails.
0sec
is the typical time to read a text. Email replies often take hours.
0×
Texts see far higher response rates than phone calls or email.
0%+
of customers would rather text a business than call it for quick questions.
0%
Appointment no-shows drop sharply when reminders go out by text.

A single fast text back often wins the job before a competitor even calls back.

What you'd actually do with it

Built for real conversations, not blasts.

The core of it is simple: customers text your number, and your team gives quick, personal help from one shared inbox. Everything else is a bonus.

Shared team inbox

Your whole team answers from one place.

Every customer text lands in a single inbox your team shares — not on someone's personal phone. Anyone can pick up a conversation, hand it to the right person, and see the full history. If someone's out, a teammate keeps it moving. Customers just get fast, personal replies from your business.

  • One business number, one shared inbox
  • Personal cell numbers stay private
  • Assign & hand off to the right person
  • Everyone sees the full history — nothing dropped

Personalized support

Real answers, in seconds — no phone tag.

“Are you open?” “Is my part in?” “Can I move my appointment?” These are 20-second exchanges that would otherwise be voicemails, callbacks, and wasted time on both sides. Your team helps right from the keyboard, with saved replies for the questions you get all day — so every customer feels looked after.

  • Handle questions in seconds, right from your computer
  • Saved replies for the questions you get all day

Reminders & follow-up

Helpful nudges customers actually see.

Appointment reminders, “your order is ready” alerts, and a quick review request after a great visit go out by text and get seen. Customers confirm or reschedule right in the thread — fewer no-shows, less chasing, and it still feels like service: the right message at the right moment.

  • Appointment & pickup reminders that cut no-shows
  • Confirm / reschedule replies handled for you
  • After-visit review requests (Google & Facebook)

And yes — mass texts, if you ever want them.

Some businesses love sending the occasional broadcast: a weather closure, a “we have openings this week,” a same-day special. Plenty of our customers never use it — and that's perfectly fine. It's there when you want it and off when you don't. But because texts get read, even one well-timed message can fill a slow afternoon.

  • Broadcast to your opted-in list — only when you choose
  • Personalize with names & details automatically
  • One-tap opt-out keeps you compliant

By the kind of business

Where texting quietly earns its keep.

Contractors & home services

Send quotes, “on my way” texts, and scheduling — customers love not having to answer the phone mid-day.

Salons, spas & clinics

Reminders and confirmations slash no-shows, and “we have an opening” texts fill last-minute gaps.

Retail & restaurants

“Your order's ready,” table's-up alerts, and same-day promos to the customers who opted in.

Auto, repair & parts

“Part's in,” status updates, and pickup notices keep the bay moving and the phone quiet.

Professional & office

Document reminders, appointment confirmations, and quick status replies without the phone tag.

Real estate & property

Showing times, application nudges, and maintenance updates land instantly and get answered.

It rides on the phone system you already need. Customer texting is built into the business phone system we install — so calls and texts share one number and one shared inbox, and you're not paying for a separate texting app on top.

Getting started

Live in days, not weeks — and we keep it legal.

Texting customers comes with rules (opt-in, carrier registration, opt-outs). We take care of all of it so you don't have to think about it.

Enable your number

We text-enable the business number you already use, so customers text the number they know.

Register & comply

We handle carrier registration (10DLC) and set up opt-in and opt-out so you stay compliant.

Set up your templates

Reminders, saved replies, and review requests are built to match your business.

Start texting

Your team replies from computer or phone, and we're here whenever you want to add more.

Common questions

Is texting customers even allowed?

Can I use my current business number to text?
Yes. We text-enable your existing landline or business number, so customers can call and text the same number. You don't have to advertise a new number or change anything on your signs and cards.
Isn't this against the rules / spammy?
Not when it's done right. Business texting is completely legitimate as long as customers opt in and can opt out. We register your number with the carriers (called 10DLC) and build the opt-in and “reply STOP” handling for you, so you stay on the right side of the rules (TCPA) without becoming an expert in it.
Does everyone reply from their personal cell?
No — that's the beauty of it. Texts come into a shared inbox your team answers from their computer or the business app. No one hands out their personal number, and if someone's off, a teammate can still see and answer the thread.
What if I already have a phone system?
Texting works best bundled with our business phone system, where calls and texts share one number and one shared inbox. If you're not ready to switch phones, ask us — we'll find the cleanest way to add texting to what you have.
Will this create more work for my team?
Usually the opposite. A 20-second text replaces a voicemail, a callback, and a game of phone tag. Automated reminders and saved replies handle the repetitive stuff, so your team spends less time on the phone, not more.
